Niche Directories on the Rise

The problem with general directories is that they are losing their value for all associate parties. The submitter will gain far more value (as it’s typically accepted) to submit his link to a site that is relative to theirs. By simply placing your link on any random site, you may not gain the full value of that anchor text. Sure you’ll gain the backlink and it may contribute (a little) to your PR and help get your site indexed, but is that your only goal?
Enter Niche Dirctories. They’re starting. It’s a weak start, but they are indeed working their way into the world of directories. Just in time too. The ‘average’ internet user is finding so many of the typical general directories these days that it’s just plain frustrating for them. But if you instead off them a niche directory the benifits now effect more people.
- The Webmaster Gains because he has twice the audience. Webmasters AND typical internet users.
- The Submitters gain value because their links now have relevance working on their side.
- The average internet users gains because the niche directory is filled with websites that actually pertain to what they are looking for.
