Becoming an Editor for a Human Edited Web Directory 2 OF 4

One of the biggest and most well known Web Directory is the Open Directory Project (ODP) also known as dmoz. Another web directory that rivals the ODP in size and popularity is the Yahoo! Directory.

A certain category must be met when becoming a Web Directory Editor. After initial contact with the web directory provider the hopeful volunteer must then demonstrate a certain degree of editing skill before considered for the position. Applicants must also be willing to disclose any other affiliations that may conflict with the policies of the Web Directory, certain affiliations on the other hand can boost an applicant position by giving the Web Directory masters an idea on how the applicant will fit in with the Directories Goals and Purposes as well as with the other editors in their roster.
