Easy Tips to get what you want from Web Directories 2 OF 2

* Be Specific – this may sometimes be hard for some people, but it is best if you practice being specific in your searches. For Example you are looking for a site that contains Broadway Musical Songs; try searching for the whole phrase or if you know specific artists try entering that in your search also. Doing this will make sure that you are getting what you want from your searches.
* Search by Category – most web directories offer searches in categories. An example is dmoz or the Open Directory Project. This web directory has specific categories that range from Arts, Kids and Teens and even a World Search that allows you to search in for something in a specific language. Searching by category helps narrow your search spectrum at the very beginning of your search. This way you do not have to worry about searches from a totally different category popping up.

* Favorites – web directories are constantly edited. Links that do not meet the sites qualifications may be removed without prior notice. If you found a site in a particular web directory before; there is a slight chance that you may not find it anymore. To avoid this, you could tag the websites you may need to visit again in the future. It is also possible to bookmark a web page so that you can go back to it easily later on. To bookmark a page, press Crtl + B on your keyboard. This action will open a bookmark window and you can then proceed to bookmark the page.
