What if you or your identity had been stolen and records falsified, what are you going to do? Experian has actually picked a fight with Lifelock.com Company. LifeLock.com has in fact protected lots of members from being a victim of identity theft. LifeLock services are designed to protect the consumer, at the expense of Credit Reporting Agencies profits, and they are doing their job. So, why has Experian picked a fight with lifelock, alleging “credit laws do not provide for a third party to place fraud alerts on behalf of a consumer.” In essence, Experian is mad that LifeLock is costing them money by placing fraud alerts for members (it costs them money to set alerts). LifeLock also opt-out members of pre-approved junk mail, etc., limiting the credit bureaus ability to sell customers’ information. And the point of that is just because Experian’s losing money because LifeLock.com does just what it says it does. I will be very curious to see the outcome, Davis refers to David and Goliath and hopefully the outcome remain the same.
