LifeLock.com - LifeLock

Did you know there are two ways to deal with identity theft: Make personal information harder to steal, and make stolen personal information harder to use. We all know the former does not work, so that leaves the latter. Get lifelock if you want, or one of its competitors if you prefer. I could not imagine having identity theft happening to me! Did you know there is more than 40 million theft and sale of credit and debit cards, I feel that I really have to do something to protect my identity from the identity theft!

Are you familiar late night commercial- the ones representing freecreditreport.com? These commercials are trying to lead people into believing that they have to settle for anything that comes along. The poor guy who’s lives with his in-laws, or work as a waiter, even buy’s a used car because his credit was ruined. Seriously, if he only had just signed up for a “free” credit report he could have avoided all of these horrible problems. And this was not a only commercial. Another, was brought to my attention that the guy singing in the commercial with his band is not even the real singer he claims to be. Needless to say I am not please with the misleading commercials.

So, best-selling author Bob Sullivan has discussed freecreditreport.com and his conclusion in part is that “There’s nothing free about FreeCreditReport.com. In September 2005, every consumer in America was granted the right to obtain a free copy of his or her credit report every year.

“A Warning About “Imposter” Websites” “Only one website is authorized to fill orders for the free annual credit report you are entitled to under law – freecreditreport.com. Other websites that claim to offer “free credit reports,” “free credit scores,” or “free credit monitoring” are not part of the legally mandated free annual credit report program. In some cases, the “free” product comes with strings attached. For example, some sites sign you up for a supposedly “free” service that converts to one you have to pay for after a trial period. If you do not cancel during the trial period, you may be unwittingly agreeing to let the company start charging fees to your credit card.”

Trust me, on how to Protect yourself from identity theft. Maybe it is time to start looking into a program like lifelock. This way it can help prevent and detect identity theft and any weird activities that may be happening to your accounts.
