The problem with blogs 1 OF 2

Dangers and risks with blogging are practically proportional with the increasing number of bloggers worldwide. 2500 people were surveyed by the Pew Internet and American Life Project. Based on the result it was found that adult blog readers are roughly 40% of the volume of talk radio listeners and around 20% of newspaper reading viewers.

Parents may be surprised to know that their kids are starting to share information through their blogs. Information such as name, photos, contact info, addresses, birth date, and email addresses just to name a few. These details are now available to anyone anytime. Pedophiles and other child predators can definitely take advantage of these young bloggers. Some bloggers are also more engage in extremely provocative conversations. Because of the assumptions that they are anonymous and safe behind their monitors, people are more open in doing things they would never do in person.

Just 11 days after his first day in Google, Mark Jen was already out of the giant search engine group. Apparently, he did not fully understand the company’s policies on corporate culture. After disclosing sales meeting, compensation package and other confidential details, it is now known to him what went wrong. An employed blogger from Chicago named Don Baiocchi was fired. His post entitled “Rachel Ray is Not God” has started a rage causing him his job. Though he did not named his employer in his blog, almost everyone who read it assumes it was his superior. Actually, it was for the comments that Don allowed to be posted that resulted to his termination.
